The mountains are the highest places of the world. Out of 10 highest mountains, 8 lies in Nepal. The highest mountain of the world is mt.everest. The height of mt.everest is 8848m. The second highest mountain of world is K2 which is located at pakistan. Nepal has other highest mountain such as kanchanjanga, manaslu, ganesh, machhapuchhre etc. The himalayan range lies in Nepal and India but the highest mountain lies in Nepal only. Nepal has other middle mountains also.
The environment of the mountainous region is cold. snow falls occurs throughout the year. Due to snow fall there is always cold atmosphere around. The fog always cover the mountain at the morning of the day. The moment in the mountain is very momentus. Anyone gone to visit mountain will always keep its views in mind.
The joy of glaciers and snow as well as snow is so exciting. The appropriate safety must be carried out while visiting mountain. Specially be safe from cold and breathing problem generally faced due to the lack of oxygen. The required food are also to be taken while going to mountain. Environment and poverty nexus: context of Nepal

The downward spiral of poverty and environment is reflected in Nepal. Major environmental endowments that attract the poverty analysis include the water, forest and land. The inextricable linkage of the poor with these three environmental endowments determines the entire gamut of relationship. Dependency of poor people in the forest water and land resources for survival strategy has year’s long history. Rural people make survival strategies basically establishing a qualitative relationship with available land, water and forest resources. Poor people are highly dependent on land, water, wood, fuel and clean air. The state of the natural environment is therefore central to the livelihoods, health and security of millions of people living in poverty and therefore to pro-poor growth. The environment of Nepal is characterized by deforestation, over use of limited available lands for agricultural purpose. High population pressure in arable land , increasing congestion in urban centers which are further deteriorated by unplanned growth, and increasing problems of waste disposal and pollution. Environmental degradation for example loss of fresh water and land scarcity increases marginalization of the poor people whose survival strategies mainly depend on these resources. This marginalization has a gender face.

Water resources and land pollution in Kathmandu

The water sheds of the Baghmati River and its tributaries are deteorating. The natural forest vegetation in the surrounding hills has been over exploited and dense forest has turned into scattered forest, shrub land and barren grassland. Consequently landslide/silt gullies and soils loss have increased tremendously in the degraded areas. It is unfortunate to say that our holy river Baghmati is being treated as dumping site for sewer disposal it is now become hard to say that our grandfather used the water from the same river for drinking purpose, today’s generation is not going to believe that also the river which are considered scares are now treated as accessible clumping sites especially in the urban areas. The boundaries of river bank are not defined and no landmarks exist to indicate boundaries except where Ghats’s shrines are constructed. Consequently river banks are encroached upon illegal settlers to single deep channel. Rivers are now heavily polluted and unfit for human use. The importance of saving the planet

Save the planet earth will be our step toward the right direction. We should have a nationwide campaign to rebuild our beautiful planet so that we can handover it to the coming generation. Our every step counts. Don/’t think what can I do alone, but every small step is very important and significant in saving the planet earth. By saving our mother planet, we can create heaven on the earth. We should save our planet for the following reasons: 40% of Himalayan glaciers would be vanished by year 2035, 50 millions in costal belt will be displaced by year 2100, melting ice in the arctic due to global warming. Satellite picture of the earth shows that in 1980 the arctic spread almost everywhere around the land, in 2002 it has been reduced to some extent, in 2004 there is large change and today 2011 we can just extrapolate. It is not just a linear disappearing but it is exponential disappearance. We should have to be very careful to not let the environment change in such a wrong direction. Let the change the environment in a positive direction, so nobody will be surprised by the environment.
